PRIVACY POLICY
Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and according to the legal data protection regulations as well as this data protection explanation.
As a rule, our website can be used without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data is partially passed on to third parties in accordance with this data protection declaration.
We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can be subject to security gaps. A complete protection of the data against access by third parties is not possible.
Cookies
Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your terminal until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser during your next visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, accept cookies for certain cases or generally exclude them and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
Hosting Provider & Server LogFiles
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us.
Hostpoint takes appropriate precautions and uses appropriate technologies to protect your data. They will only be stored for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. As a rule, however, they are deleted after 12 months.
SSL encryption
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests you send to us as a site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries using the contact form, your details from the enquiry form including the contact data you entered there including IP address will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. These data will not be passed on without your consent.
Storage of the IP address
Our comment feature stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. As we do not check comments on our site before they are activated, we need this data to be able to take action against the author in the event of infringements such as insults or propaganda.
Newsletter data
If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter.
We use these data exclusively for the dispatch of the requested information.
You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, e-mail address and their use to send the newsletter at any time, for example via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
The registration to our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registration you will receive an e-mail in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that nobody can register with external e-mail addresses.

The registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Likewise the changes of your data stored with MailChimp are logged.
MailChimp
The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in the context of this notice, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may use this information for its own information to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimization of the dispatch and display of the newsletter or for economic purposes to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them or pass them on to third parties.
We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US- EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. In addition, we have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with their data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view the privacy policy of MailChimp here.
Statistical survey and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are first collected. This information is used to technically improve the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our nor MailChimp’s aim to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.
Cancellation/withdrawal

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. withdraw your consent. At the same time, your consent to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire. A separate withdrawal of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible.
You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
Legal basis General Data Protection Regulation
In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25 May 2018, we would like to inform you that your consent to the sending of e-mail addresses is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, 7 GDPR and § 7 Para. 2 No. 3 or Para. 3 UWG. The use of the MailChimp shipping service, the performance of statistical surveys and analyses as well as the logging of the registration procedure are carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our interest is directed towards the use of a user-friendly and secure newsletter system which serves our business interests as well as the expectations of the users.
